The first NFL game in the new Cowboys Stadium, which has Jumbotrons I would die to have in my home theater, was a “fantasy” dominating performance by the 1st string Dallas offense and defense.
Here are my notes on the game:
Cowboys- starting offense had 4 drives (played the entire 1st half)
- O-Line looked like one of the best in the league…Romo had all day and Barber/Jones had plenty of running room for many plays
- Tony Romo was almost perfect. His pocket presence, accuracy, etc. were all top-notch.
- Roy Williams and Jason Witten got the majority of the targets. Roy looked solid and Witten looked awesome.
- Marion Barber showed off his repertoire of skills running strong, catching out of the back field, and hitting the right holes…VERY impressive
- Felix Jones showed how dangerous he is in the open field was an awesome catch in the middle of the field, run to the outside, and even a goal line TD run
Titans- starting offense had 3 drives (played the entire 1st half)
- Kerry Collins was stifled for 2 of the drives due to the swarming Cowboys D
- Targets were evenly distributed b/w Nate Washington, Justin Gage and Bo Scaife got most of the targets
- Rookie RB Javon Ringer had a few eye-opening runs and catches, AND outplayed Chris Johnson / LenDale White, AND it was against the 1st string Dallas defense.
