For those who haven’t heard, there’s a new professional football league this year called the United Football League (UFL).
There are four teams, all with former NFL coaches as head coaches, and many former NFL players:
- Las Vegas – Jim Fassel – J.P. Losman (QB), Adam Archuleta (SS)
- New York – Ted Cottrell – Ken Dorsey (QB), Cecil Sapp (RB)
- Orlando - Jim Haslett – Brooks Bollinger (QB), Chris Perry (RB), Jermaine Wiggins (TE)
- San Francisco – Dennis Green – Tim Rattay (QB), Obafemi Ayanbadejo (FB)
Here’s their current schedule:
- October 2009 – UFL “Premiere” Season Begins
- November 19, 2009 – UFL “Premiere” Regular Season Concludes
- Thanksgiving Weekend 2009 – Championship Game in Las Vegas
From a fantasy perspective, there could be future NFL fantasy football worthy players discovered in this league. We’ll have to see the level of competition once the games start in October!
