The first interesting QB acquisition during this free agency frenzy was with the Dolphins grabbing Josh McCown. They also signed a target for McCown in Ernest Wilford (WR). I never expected to hear “Dolphins go up 6 with a TD pass from McCown to Wilford.” McCown can throw the ball deep, and will take a hit to make the pass, but his accuracy is inconsistent. But, he’s not guaranteed the starting spot. Wilford has never been a featured WR in Jacksonville. He’s a great route runner and has sure hands, plus at 6’4″ he’s a big target. Because of all of the turnover with the coaching staff and player personnel, McCown is not worth a fantasy football draft pick. Wilford, on the other hand, should be top two in passing targets, so he’s a solid WR3.
The Dolphins also added quite a few other players: Justin Smiley (OG), Randy Starks (DT), Jason Ferguson (NT)
Watch McCown make a tough TD pass and Wilford make a nice diving catch:
